It is a matter of great privilege that Government College Women University Faisalabad hosted a prestigious delegation of Bank Alfalah Islamic Pakistan on 16 May 2023. Honourable Vice Chancellor GCWUF Prof. Dr. Robina Farooq (T.I) welcomed the Group Head of Bank Alfalah Islamic Dr. Muhammad Imran, a leading professional in the global Islamic finance industry. The other members of the delegate included Muhammad Ramzan Business Head of IBG, Islamic Branch Banking Business Head Talal Ali Raza, Muhammad Faraz Head of Digital Banking, Adeel Khan HR Head, Salman Ghaffar Sales and Distribution Head, Jamal Ansari Consumer Banking Head, Imran Manzoor Area Manager, and Zaira Bano Tung Branch Manager accompanied the group head. The delegate was introduced to the key office bearers including Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zill-i-Huma Nazli, Registrar Mr Asif A Malik, Treasurer Mr. Anser Mughal, Controller of Examinations Mrs. Rizwana Tanveer Randhawa, Director Student Affairs Dr. Asma Aziz and Addl Director Press Media Publication Ms. Amara Javed. There was a very fruitful and productive discussion on various avenues of academics, entrepreneurship, student and faculty development, financial literacy, and collaboration of the corporate sector and academia to promote Islamic banking in Pakistan. Worthy Vice Chancellor briefed the delegate on various academic and administrative achievements of the university, the number of students, degree programs, and various innovations that our university is contributing to targeting the SDGs. The Group Head appreciated the efforts of GCWUF and ensured all his support in uplifting the university in Islamic banking and allied matters. He suggested opening student accounts for their financial literacy and presented his book to the Vice Chancellor. It is important to mention that the university is already collaborating with Bank Alfalah Islamic for opening its fully functional branch in the university.
